Become a weather spotter for the National Weather Service! Free training tonight!

The National Weather Service in Spokane WA is seeking volunteers who would like to become official Weather Spotters.  Weather Spotters are the “eyes and ears” of the NWS and provide valuable weather reports, which cannot be replaced.  Spotter reports, help the NWS to issue more timely and accurate warning and statements for many types of hazardous weather.

The training is free of charge and prior experience is not necessary. A Meteorologist from the Spokane National Weather Service (NWS) will be present.

The training will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the WSU Pullman Public Safety Building on 2201 East Grimes Way. Free parking will be available. This training is hosted by Emergency Management from WSU and Whitman County.
