How to Prepare…When You Get Funded:
Speaker: Dr. Laura Lavine, Associate Professor, Entomology
We tend to focus on the low funding success rates as being part of everyday life in the research and academic enterprise, some to the point of being caught off guard when they learn that they have been funded. Though rejection and resubmission of proposals are very much part of the process, some investigators may find themselves unprepared when receiving the news: We are pleased to… “Now what? Oh, I have to actually do what I proposed!” Whether you are in the starting stages of seeking and applying for funding, or your role is to support investigators, knowing what it takes to be prepared to hit the ground running is an essential, but sometimes overlooked, element for success.
