Academic Outreach and Innovation and WSU Libraries are pleased to announce two grant opportunities for the upcoming year. Grants will be provided as follows:
- Open Textbook Workshop: This workshop, led by representatives from the University of Minnesota, will consider openly licensed textbooks and their potential benefits for encouraging student success in courses. Workshop attendees are invited to complete a short review of an open textbook in their discipline—see https://open.umn.edu/opentextbooks/ for options. To compensate for the time involved, participants will receive $200 mini-grants upon completing reviews. Apply by February 1, 2017, at https://teach.wsu.edu/open-textbook-network.
- Affordable Learning Grants: Faculty members who are interested in integrating open educational resources and/or library-licensed resources into their courses can apply for grants of $1,000-5,000. Grant recipients will receive assistance as needed from instructional designers and librarians to locate, adapt, remix, and create resources as part of the grant project. Apply by February 15, 2017, using the application materials on this page: https://teach.wsu.edu/affordable-learning-grants/
Questions may be directed to oer@wsu.edu. If there is interest, we will schedule Q&A sessions in January 2017.
