AFW and Common Reading host Title IX film, “Rise of the Wahine”

The Association for Faculty Women and the Common Reading Program will host a screening of “Rise of the Wahine: Champions of Title IX” on Wednesday, March 23, at 4:10 p.m., in Todd 116. This 2018 film documents the creation of the 1972 Title IX legislation and its impact on collegiate sports through the lens of the University of Hawaii women’s volleyball program. The UH experience mirrors in many ways that of women athletes and coaches at WSU during the same period. Come learn more about this landmark bill and its impact on college athletics as we mark its 50th anniversary.
