Advancing Public-Private Partnerships in Aerospace

Don’t miss the Joint Center for Aerospace Technology Innovation (JCATI) research symposium on Monday, April 21, at the CUB Senior Ballroom on the Pullman campus.  The theme of the event will be “Advancing Public-Private Partnerships in Aerospace.”

Presentations include: “Functional Considerations & Opportunities for Nanocomposites & Nanotechnology in Commercial Aerospace” by Russell Maguire, President of Global Nanocomposites and former Technical Fellow at The Boeing Corporation;  “New Paths Towards Building Our Future In Space” by Robert P. Hoyt, Ph.D., CEO & Chief Scientist, Tethers Unlimited; and  “ASCENT of Biofuels – FAA Center of Excellence for Alternative Jet Fuels and the Environment” by Ralph Cavalieri, WSU Associate Vice President for Alternative Energy and Director of the Northwest Advanced Renewables Alliance.

Research from the 16 currently supported JCATI awards, representing the areas of additive manufacturing, aerospace structures, biofuels, commercial flight, composites, controls, and space propulsion, will be presented in both oral and poster presentations.

Panels, including members of leading aerospace companies and university representatives, will provide perspectives on the challenges of commercializing academic research and the benefits of including student researchers in university-industry collaborations.  Registration is $50 or free for students.
