ADVANCE at WSU encourages faculty to apply for grants through our Leadership Training Program.
The ADVANCE at WSU Leadership Training Program aims to foster career development of eligible faculty by supporting participation in leadership opportunities and training. For tenured faculty, this initiative is intended to help grantees through the promotion process, encouraging them to seek administrative responsibilities and enhance leadership planning.
The ADVANCE at WSU Leadership Training Program provides funding for proposals that have identified suitable leadership programs, training, and opportunities. Examples of these include the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity Faculty Success Program, the WSU Center for Transformational Learning trainings or other leadership programs that require registration fees and other expenses. The proposed use of funds must demonstrate considerable potential for providing career advancement opportunities for the eligible WSU faculty members and intent to serve/assist in reducing barriers.
WSU women faculty are eligible to apply with priority given to women from STEM departments and/or academic units wherein women faculty are otherwise under-represented. Additionally, all faculty members from historically underrepresented groups as defined by the NSF — regardless of gender identity — are eligible.
