Academic Advisor Training (Advising 101, 102, and 103)

Advising 101, 102 and 103 will be offered on Friday, Jan. 31 and Monday, Feb. 17 between 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. This training will provide a basic overview of academic advising at Washington State University.

Advising 101 “Nuts and Bolts”
9 – 10:30 a.m.

Pullman: CUE 518
Other locations: Virtual and Phone Bridge

Graduation requirements, transfer credit, General Education Requirements/University Common Requirements, placement examinations and schedule of studies.

Advising 102 “Working with Students”
10:30 a.m. – Noon
Pullman: CUE 518
Other locations: Virtual and Phone Bridge

Advising theories and approaches, reinstated students, communicating effectively and opportunities for practice.

Lunch
Noon – 1:00 p.m.
On your own

Advising 103 “zzusis for Academic Advisors”
1 – 3 p.m.

Pullman: CUE 518
Other locations: Virtual and Phone Bridge

Removing service indicators (holds), locating placement test scores, contacting advisees, and searching for classes.
