According to Liberating Structures theory, classrooms and office meetings often share this characteristic: The structures are either too formal—sage on stage—or too loose, such as open discussions that can devolve into irrelevancies.
Liberating Structures offers a new approach—actually 33 new approaches—called microstructures. These lively techniques range from User Experience Fishbowl to 9-whys, from Wicked Questions to Celebrity Interview.
To learn more about these fun and productive approaches, please join Davi Kallman of the Murrow College of Communication and Laura Griner Hill of the Human Development Department from 12:10 p.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, in CUE 518. Lunch will be served. The presentation will also be live-streamed.
This workshop is part of a series on increasing student success co-sponsored by the WSU Provost’s Office, WSU Teaching Academy and the Global Campus. Next on the agenda is a Dec. 9 workshop on “Writing as a Way of Doing,” with WSU Professor Victor Villanueva.
To attend any of these workshops, please go to the WSU eLearning trainings page and select “faculty-led” from the dropdown menu.
