One-Man Orchestra of Exotic Instruments to Perform in Feb. 16 Concert

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University will present multi-instrumentalist Todd Green as he performs on a number of ethnic instruments, along with one-of-a-kind custom-built instruments, at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16 in Bryan Hall Theatre.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and free to WSU students. Tickets are available at all TicketsWest outlets, by phone at (800) 325-SEAT or online at www.beasley.wsu.edu. They will also be available at the door the night of the performance.

Green has astounded audiences across the United States and Canada with his diversity on a multitude of string, flute and percussion instruments from all over the world. His performance will be enhanced by digital samplers, which make him into a one-man orchestra of unique and exotic instruments.

He will present the sounds of the Middle Eastern oud (short-necked, half pear-shaped stringed instrument) or kemenche (a spiked fiddle) and South American charango (small guitar) and zamponia (pan flute) as well as the East Indian tables or santoor (stringed instrument played with a pair of curved mallets).

Green has been a studio musician for many years and studied with guitar greats Pat Metheny and George Benson. He now plays his own original music and has recorded four CDs on which he plays more than 40 instruments.

Green’s performance is part of Beasley Coliseum’s Performing Artist Series.
