Dave Wagner Presents “Moths (and their Caterpillars): An Unseen Majority”

The WSU Entomology program invites the university community and public to attend Moths (and their Caterpillars): An Unseen Majority, presented by Dave Wagner, professor at the University of Connecticut and member of the National Academy of Sciences. The talk will be held Monday, October 12, at 5:30 p.m. in CUE 203 Auditorium on the WSU Pullman campus.

Wagner will introduce attendees to the secret lives of moths, including their beauty, diversity, relationships with plants, co-evolution with bats, and importance to birds and other insectivores. He will also discuss the growing pastime of moth watching, community science efforts involving butterflies and moths, and actions individuals can take to enhance insect diversity in their own landscapes. Time permitting, Wagner will share photographs and stories from his forthcoming manuscript on the caterpillars of Western North America.

This event is free and open to the public.
