Annual Race for Campus Safety happening Oct. 17

This year’s Race for Campus Safety – hosted by the Lauren McCluskey Foundation on the Washington State University Pullman campus – is taking place on Saturday, Oct. 17.

The annual event is inspired by Lauren McCluskey’s life and legacy, bringing community members together in a shared commitment to creating safer college campuses.

This year’s event offers 1K, 5K and 10K races that begin at the WSU College of Veterinary Medicine parking lot. The 1K gets underway at 10 a.m., followed by the 10K at 10:30 a.m. and the 5K at 10:40 a.m.

Family-friendly activities and events will take place following the races. A free self-defense class for women and girls will also be offered at 1:00 PM at the Marriott Residence Inn.
