The Mirror that Nature Holds: From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation

The Mirror that Nature Holds explores the profound relationship between people and the natural world through more than 100 works by leading contemporary artists drawn from the collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and his family foundation. Featuring paintings, prints, sculpture, and installation, the exhibition reflects on nature as a source of wonder, beauty, memory, and inspiration while acknowledging the realities of climate change and environmental transformation.

Balancing the sublime beauty of the natural world with the urgency of ecological change, the exhibition explores themes of climate, displacement, storytelling, and collective care. Rather than ending in despair, The Mirror that Nature Holds offers hopeful visions of resilience, interdependence, and environmental stewardship, inviting visitors to reflect on both the fragility of our planet and our shared responsibility for its future. Admission is always free. Everyone is welcome.

Location: The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU is located in the Crimson Cube (on Wilson Road across from Martin Stadium and the CUB) on the WSU Pullman campus. Museum hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Sundays, Mondays, and during university holidays and breaks.
