You are invited to a talk today at noon in the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU by Kirstine Zakarison on the various ways fasting and feasting have been ritualized in the spiritual life of many religions, cultures, and historical moments. As the global community looks ahead to the start of three major religions’ observances (Ramadan, Lent, and Passover), come hear this important aspect food’s meaning.
This event is co-hosted by the WSU Common Reading Program and the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU to complement both the use of Priya Fielding-Singh’s book How the Other Half Eats: The Untold Story of Food and Inequality in America as the 2024–25 WSU Common Reading as well as the exhibit The Art of Food: From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation on display at the museum through March 8.
