Registration is now open for the final virtual workshop in the Systematic Review Series, hosted by the WSU College of Medicine’s Collaboration for Interprofessional Health Education Research & Scholarship (CIPHERS) initiative!

Virtual Workshop 4: “Pulling it all Together — Data extraction, Quality and Bias, and Writing Your Review co-facilitated by Dr. Dawn DeWitt and Dr. Yihan Yang”

Tuesday, Feb. 18, 12:10–1 p.m.

The final session of the evidence synthesis series will discuss key steps for data extraction, analysis and synthesis; quality and bias assessment; as well as review reporting and dissemination. The co-presenters will use their experience in completing and publishing systematic and scoping reviews to highlight best practices and pitfalls in pulling together and publishing an evidence synthesis (review).

Participants will be able to:

  1. Compare and contrast data extraction for systematic reviews and scoping reviews
  2. ​Discuss strategic differences when reporting results for different review types (tables and narrative summaries)
  3. ​Provide an overview of quality and bias assessment resources for scholars/researchers conducting evidence synthesis
  4. ​Describe approaches to data synthesis and writing the results and discussion sections of reviews​.
