Faculty and administrative professionals across the Washington State University system will see their paychecks increase beginning this month.

A 2.5% salary increase for eligible faculty and administrative professionals took effect Oct. 1, with the increase to be first reflected on Oct. 25 paychecks. Permanent as well as fixed-term faculty and administrative professionals are eligible for the increase.

The salary increase for faculty and administrative professionals was funded in-part by the Washington State Legislature, providing enough for a 2.2% increase, with the university contributing additional financial support. Human Resource Services has a frequently asked questions and answers page available on its website.

A 4% salary increase for classified staff — entirely funded by the Washington State Legislature in the 2023–25 biennial operating budget — went into effect on July 1.

WSU saw significant funding for university efforts and initiatives across the system in the most recent state budget cycle, with employee compensation sitting atop the university’s list of priorities. The university employs more than 8,200 people across its five physical campuses, WSU Global Campus, extension centers, and other offices across the state.
