Sept. 26 paycheck to reflect 2.5% pay increase

The first paychecks reflecting a 2.5% salary increase for faculty, administrative professionals and graduate assistants are going out Sept. 26.

The salary increase for these groups went into effect Sept. 1, but is being paid for the first time with the second paycheck of the month. This increase follows a similar increase for eligible civil service employees, which went into effect July 1 and was first evident on the July 25 paycheck.

Human Resource Services put together FAQs for employees regarding this year’s salary increases.

Earlier this week, WSU submitted its 2023-2025 biennial capital and operating budget requests, with employee compensation ranking as the most important priority. WSU’s proposal would have faculty and staff receiving a 4% increase the first year of the biennium and a 3% increase the second year. The university also requested that full funding be provided for pay increases for civil service employees to keep them in line with the wages earned by other state employees.
