In addition to funding a significant portion of WSU’s compensation request for 2023–25, the operating budget includes millions for new degree programs, scholarships and university-affiliated centers across the state.
Alongside requests related to employee compensation, the university is also seeking funding for new degree programs during the Washington State legislative session that begins next week.
The university’s request included $34.5 million to fund a 4% compensation increase for faculty and staff the first year of the biennium and a 3% increase in the second year.
