Safely dispose of medications at Cougar Health Services

Washington State University Pullman students, faculty, and staff, and the broader Pullman community, are encouraged to safely dispose of unwanted medications at Cougar Health Services.

The safe disposal kiosk is free for all and is located outside the CHS pharmacy, which is on the first floor of the Washington Building. It is available Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

The kiosk provides a safe way to dispose of unwanted, unused, and expired medications.

Medications can be disposed of in their original container or a sealed bag. Medications placed in the kiosk are no longer accessible.

The following items are not accepted:

  • Herbal remedies, vitamins, and supplements
  • Cosmetics and personal care products
  • Medical devices
  • Batteries
  • Mercury-containing thermometers
  • Sharps
  • Illicit drugs

The kiosk is sponsored by MED-Project, which provides safe medication disposal sites around the country. For more information, visit the MED-Project website.
