Cougar Gold cheese now sold at WSU Everett

Washington State University Creamery’s famous Cougar Gold cheese is now being sold on the WSU Everett campus through the Bargreen’s Coffee Company café. The classic Cougar Gold and Crimson Fire varieties are available and a portion of the revenues from sales of each $30 tin will benefit the WSU Everett campus.

“WSU Creamery’s Cougar Gold is an icon of our university system, so we’re naturally excited that WSU fans and cheese lovers can find it in Cougar country here in Everett,” WSU Everett chancellor Paul Pitre said.

The café is open 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m.–1 p.m. Friday.

Cougar Gold: Our most famous & popular cheese! Winner of several national and international awards. A rich, white cheddar with a smooth, firm texture. This unique cheddar has a depth and intensity that most people have never before experienced. Its creamy, lingering flavor will leave you wanting for more! Our current stock of Cougar Gold is just over one year in age. Buy 2 and store one for aging, as it becomes more sharp and crumbly with age, developing crystals throughout, which can give it kind of a crunch.

Crimson Fire: An award-winning cheese created on demand for our Hot Pepper lovers who wanted more “kick” in their cheese. We’ve added jalapeño and cayenne peppers to our reduced-fat Viking cheese. Deliciously spicy with red, orange and green marbling, and 1/3 less fat. This cheese is one of our top sellers!
