REGISTER NOW: How to create a research poster in PowerPoint (A valuable resource for creating ShowCase, GPSA EXPO & SURCA posters)

FREE CLASS: The Biomedical Communications Unit staff will be offering a one and a half hour course in “Creating a Research Poster in PowerPoint” on Tuesday, February 28; Wednesday, March 1; and Tuesday, March 7 from 6:30-8 p.m. in ADBF 1002 (in the veterinary medicine complex south of French Admin Building). This class is open to students, grad students, staff and faculty and space will be limited to 50 people. We can arrange for video conference connections to extended sites…..please contact us early.

The class will include topics such as: why we do research posters; the basics of research poster requirements; design principles; use of templates; sizing issues; good layout; backgrounds; text issues and recommendations; color; importing graphs, charts, and tables; good use of photos; how to save your poster for printing; and many tips. We will be sharing from lessons we’ve learned from 20+ years of printing posters for WSU researchers including many common issues and problems, and tips to make your poster creation easier!

The class will be presented in a “lecture/discussion” format. Handouts will be provided.

More sessions may be offered on future dates before Showcase, GPSA Exposition and SURCA if we have the demand for them.
