Washington State University’s Academic Success and Career Center (ASCC) invites students to a virtual guest presentation on technology careers by alumnus Russell Pixton at 2 p.m. Thurs, April 13, in Lighty 160. [https://ascc.wsu.edu]
Pixton (’07 General Studies) currently works for HubSpot, a Massachusetts-based company that offers a suite of software and support for marketing, sales, and customer relationship management. At HubSpot, he helps small businesses leverage inbound marketing through their websites and cloud-based tools.
His passion for people, innovation, and entrepreneurship developed over his years as a business owner and his work in technology sales. Using cloud-based computing and highly advanced telemetry equipment, he helped Washington orchards actively monitor their high-value crops.
“WSU students will benefit by listening to Pixton’s descriptions of his own professional experiences,” said Christie Motley, ASCC assistant director for employer relations. “They can also add to the conversation by coming to the event prepared with questions about careers at HubSpot or in the tech industry.”
ASCC offers a diverse set of professional services to students at the WSU Pullman campus, such as tutoring, career fairs, resume and interview assistance, workshops, courses, and an online career-connections network that includes nearly 10,000 employers. ASCC is a program of WSU Undergraduate Education.
Students planning to attend the Pixton event must RSVP online at https://wsu-csm.symplicity.com/.
