The First Scholars Program at Washington State University is currently seeking a graduate staff intern for the upcoming academic year. The mission of First Scholars is to dramatically increase the graduation rate of first-generation college students and to prepare each scholar for a life with self-awareness, success, and significance. The Graduate Staff Intern will aid in this mission by equipping participants with strategies to successfully navigate the college experience as a first-generation college student. Position duties include course instruction and skills counseling. The Graduate Staff Intern will facilitate curriculum covering a variety of topics related to professional and leadership development. Counseling duties will assist students in building personalized strategies to develop the skills needed to succeed academically, personally, and professionally.

This nine-month, half-time (20 hours per week) position is best suited for applicants with the ability to stay at WSU for at least two years. Applicants must be a full-time student enrolled in a WSU Master’s or Ph.D programs. Applicants must also be a Washington resident and work-study eligible.
