One in Six: Students Living in Poverty (A Public Forum Conversation)

In the United States today, approximately one in six people are living in poverty. This means that in a class of 30, five students are in poverty. With such a high poverty rate in our county, those closest to you, your own friends and family, could be affected. What does poverty really look like? What is it like to experience poverty? Join us for a compelling conversation on understanding the true faces of poverty. Help us dispel the stereotypes surrounding hunger, homelessness, and poverty and learn to make a difference.

Come to the WSU Center for Civic Engagement’s Public Forum Conversation on Wednesday, November 20 at noon in Butch’s Den (CUB L60) to engage with the panel as they debate this topic. Global students are invited to attend this event digitally at mms://windowsmedia.wsu.edu/event (live stream) and https://chatanywhere.wsu.edu (chat feature). The live stream and chat will be available starting 11:50 AM. For more information on Public Forms, visit https://cce.wsu.edu/public-forums.
