Center for Civic Engagement celebrates 20th anniversary

PULLMAN, Wash. – A free, public celebration of 20 years of the Center for Civic Engagement at Washington State University will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, in the CUB junior ballroom. Light refreshments will be served.


“As a land grant university, WSU is dedicated to enhancing student engagement, leadership and service. The CCE has been an integral part of instilling these values in students over the past 20 years,” said Melanie Brown, center director.


Exhibits about CCE will be displayed and, at 3:30 p.m., several speakers will share their thoughts about its past and future.

Chastagner earns lifetime achievement award

ChastagnerPUYALLUP, Wash. – Gary Chastagner, professor of plant pathology at the Washington State University Puyallup Research and Extension Center, recently was awarded the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Pacific division of the American Phytopathological Society (APS). The award is given to senior members in recognition of distinguished contributions to plant pathology and service to the division.
