YMCA at WSU hosts annual fundraiser dinner

PULLMAN, Wash. – Dueling pianos will highlight a dinner and auction to raise money for the YMCA at Washington State University. The Y involves WSU student volunteers in programs benefiting youth and families on the Palouse.

keys to success“Keys to Success: Building a Brighter Future” will be at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the SEL Event Center in Pullman. Tickets cost $55. Patrons also may sponsor a table and/or individual students.

Members of men’s crew for hire to raise funds

Member’s of WSU men’s crew will offer their strength and skills to the community for $12 per hour on March 7 and 8 and March 14 and 15 during the popular twice-a-year Rent-A-Rower fundraiser.

 

In the past, WSU rowers have done yard work, farm work, moving, painting and a variety of other jobs. The team uses the money to travel to races all over the West.

NWPR’s fundraiser proves record breaking

After months of planning for a one-day Northwest Public Radio fund drive, Mary Hawkins awoke with serious doubts about pulling it off. Campus phone lines had been down the day before and an icy blizzard had blown through eastern Washington during the night.

 

With drifting snow and closed highways, Hawkins, liaison between Educational Public Media and the School of Communication, was worried volunteers might not make it to WSU to help answer phones. But they did. And the results were a record 2,456 callers and $266,720 pledged.

Rent-A-Rower helps team reduce competition costs

The WSU men’s crew team is gearing up for the spring Rent-A-Rower fundraiser. The 34 student-athletes are up for hire March 3 and 4 and March 10 and 11.  They are willing to work on a variety of jobs around the house or work site. Tickets on sale for Winefest 2005

The crush is on! Ticket sales have started for the 22nd annual Winefest, set for Friday, Nov. 4, and produced as a fundraiser by student hospitality association Sigma Iota.There will be two seatings, from 5-7 p.m. and from 8-10 p.m., in Gladish Community Center, 115 NW State St., in Pullman. Tickets are $25 and will be sold to persons age 21 and up. Tickets can be purchased online at http://winefest.wsu.edu or at various locations as shown on that website.

Tsunami fundraiser raises cash, goods and services
