WSU seeks Carnegie classification

WSU is seeking community engagement classification for higher education from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

No institutions in Washington hold this classification.
 
“As the land-grant university in the state, with a presence and community partnerships in all 39 counties, WSU is well positioned to be one of the first,” said John Gardner, vice president for economic development and extension.

Comments invited regarding compensation, classification

The Department of Personnel (DOP) is inviting feedback on the draft rules covering classification and compensation now through Friday, Feb. 20. The draft rules are available online at http://hr.dop.wa.gov/hrreform, along with an overview of the new system and a comparison of the current rules to the proposed rules.A fourth group of draft class specifications has also been posted for comment.
