Floyd moves toward completing leadership team

PULLMAN — President Elson S. Floyd has moved toward completing his leadership team, naming two new administrators — a vice president for information services and a vice president for enrollment management.

Viji Murali (Mer-ahl-e), who has served as vice president for information technology and chief information officer for Western Michigan University since 1999, will assume the role of vice president for information services and chief information officer at WSU. John Fraire, currently the associate vice president for enrollment management at Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., is WSU’s new vice president for enrollment management.

Laura Jennings, a Seattle-area business consultant, has been appointed by Gov. Christine Gregoire, as the newest member to the Washington State University Board of Regents. Jennings currently consults for start-up companies in the Seattle area. Jennings spent 12 years as an executive at Microsoft Corporation, serving as vice president of Worldwide Strategic Planning, vice president of MSN and in various other capacities.  After leaving Microsoft, she spent three years as a senior partner with leading international venture capital firm Atlas Venture, where she supervised investments in software start-up companies across their Seattle and Palo Alto offices.  Jennings currently serves on the boards of Laird Norton … » More …

Tri-Cities lawyer appointed to WSU Board of Regents

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Francois (Fran) Forgette of Kennewick has been appointed to the Washington State University Board of Regents by Washington Gov. Christine Gregoire. His term is effective immediately and ends Sept. 30, 2007.In addition, Justin Leighton, a WSU senior studying agriculture education, has been appointed as the new student member of the WSU Board of Regents. Astronaut appointed to serve on WSU Board of Regents

John Fabian of Port Ludlow, a retired NASA astronaut, has been appointed to the Washington State University Board of Regents by Washington Gov. Gary Locke.Fabian, who earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from WSU in 1962, will replace William Marler on the board.
