PULLMAN – Former White House Bureau Chief Helen Thomas and CBS News’ Chief Washington Correspondent Bob Schieffer will appear in Second Life for an interactive Q&A session, held at 5:30 p.m. April 6 on both the real and virtual campuses of WSU.

The duo are the recipients of this year’s 2009 Edward R. Murrow Lifetime Achievement Award in Journalism and in Broadcast Journalism, respectively.

Stedman receives Alumni Achievement Award

PULLMAN – Dale Stedman, a 1949 graduate of Washington State University, was awarded the Alumni Achievement Award April 12 at the Spokane Rotary Club meeting. Barry Jones, WSU Alumni Association past president, presented the award. Stedman began his career at the Inland Empire Automobile Association of America in 1951 and was named its president and CEO in 1967. He served on six national committees including budget, public & government, highway, traffic safety, accreditation and policy for AAA before retiring in 1994.
