PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University is urging students to closely watch weather forecasts, monitor road conditions and allow plenty of extra travel time as they prepare to return to WSU campuses for the start of spring semester on Monday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for several areas across the state. Forecasts call for below-freezing temperatures and the possibility of significant snow accumulations in some locations.
University officials have been monitoring weather conditions all week and are urging returning students to be prepared for potentially difficult winter driving conditions. If it is unsafe to travel, students should stay put and contact their instructors to make alternative arrangements.
Travelers are advised to visit the Washington State Department of Transportation website for updated reports on road and weather conditions throughout Washington. The website also offers winter driving tips and traffic cameras for live views of road conditions across the state.
