Kim Layne, 25, plans to use the platform to inform the public on the stigmas and attitudes associated with neurological conditions – something she’s experienced personally since she was diagnosed with narcolepsy, a chronic sleep disorder causing daytime drowsiness.
Guest artists for the Gala Concert are WSU’s newest jazz studies faculty members, pianist Jake Svendsen and guitarist Gabe Condon. Also featured will be the award-winning WSU Jazz Big Band.
With the help of a $1.2 million NSF grant, a WSU psychologist is leading a new program to empower women to seek career advancement and leadership opportunities in higher education throughout the northwest.
The facility will feature a 1,300 square-foot locker room, a 1,500 square-foot weight and cardio room, academic area, team meeting room, areas for Cougar equipment, nutrition and athletic medicine, coaches offices as well as recognition of Cougar Baseball’s storied history.
Called “Launchpad,” the course’s mission is to provide the foundational tools and training every Murrow College student needs, according to Rick Boyce, course creator and Murrow College graduate.

Topics tackled by the teams made up mostly of freshmen ranged from solutions to aging out of the foster system to college roommate selection, and from adjusting to college life to finding American resources for immigrants.
CAMP Director Michael Heim said the ultimate reward for the hard work he and his staff perform is watching CAMP students graduate and find their dream jobs.
