College of Art & Sciences recognizes outstanding faculty, staff, and students

Eighteen faculty, two staff, and five graduate students were honored for outstanding achievement at the 2022 College of Arts and Sciences Appreciation and Recognition Social. 

Professor Craig Hemmens, a national leader in ethical criminal justice practices, and Choong-Shik Yoo, a pioneer in static high-pressure science, received the top two faculty awards. Glenn Miller and Ryan Rice, in biological sciences and chemistry respectively, were honored with staff excellence awards. Graduate students were recognized in the humanities, arts, and sciences.

Undergraduate awards

An outstanding senior in each of the 24 College of Arts and Sciences undergraduate degree programs offered at WSU Pullman will be honored at a separate medallion ceremony the day before commencement.

The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest academic college in the WSU system, encompassing more than 500 faculty, 180 staff, 600 graduate students, and thousands of undergraduate students across all six WSU campuses. The college delivers just over half of all student credit hours of instruction at WSU, and supports scholarly, research, and creative activities across the arts, humanities, sciences, social sciences.
