Washington State University will continue to offer COVID-19 diagnostic testing through Cougar Health Services for Pullman students during the upcoming summer session.

Screening and arrival testing will be discontinued for the summer, though.

Although students taking classes during the summer session in Pullman will not have to participate in arrival testing, they will have to abide by public health and safety requirements such as wearing facial coverings and maintaining physical distancing.

A majority of classes this summer will be conducted online, reducing the number of new students on campus and also eliminating the need for the type of arrival testing effort provided in the spring.

WSU will continue to monitor Whitman County data and is remaining flexible in its planning. Existing plans are under continuous evaluation by WSU leadership to ensure proper response to the pandemic.

The last day of COVID-19 screening testing on the WSU Pullman campus for the Spring 2021 semester will be Tuesday, April 27. More information is available on the university’s COVID-19 website.

The university doesn’t anticipate a need for routine screening testing in Pullman for the fall of 2021, though diagnostic testing will continue to be offered at Cougar Health Services.

The university encourages all WSU faculty, staff and students to seek out a COVID-19 vaccine. Locations nearby offering vaccine appointments can be found using the state’s Vaccine Locator website.
