Three departments critical to the operation of the university have appointed deputies to carry out the responsibilities of unit leaders in their absence.

Laura Griner Hill, senior vice provost, has been named the new deputy for the Office of the Provost.

Matt Skinner, senior associate vice president and deputy chief financial officer, is now deputy for Finance and Administration. And Ellen Taylor, senior associate vice president for student engagement, now serves as second-in-command for the Division of Student Affairs.

“Appointing deputies is vital to establish a clear hierarchy of responsibility for these essential departments,” WSU President Kirk Schulz said. “Each of these new deputies are capable of running their respective units and their selection speaks to that.”

Each of the three new deputies takes on the role of heading up their respective departments when called upon, in addition to their current duties.
