Faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to register by the end of the week for the Oct. 28 system‑wide visioning conference that will focus on the direction of the university’s statewide enterprise for the next five years.

All of the input gathered during the day‑long conference will be compiled and considered during the drafting of the first iteration of the 2020–2025 WSU system strategic plan, which will be shared with the university community in January.

Conference attendees will participate in small‑ and large‑group conversations throughout the day that explore topics central to creating a strategic plan that advances the vision laid out in the university’s Drive to 25.

Among the topics to be discussed:

  • A SWOT analysis focused on the current realities and relevant future environment in which WSU will be seeking to achieve its mission, vision, and goals
  • WSU’s mission/core purpose
  • The ways in which the University can and should evolve to better serve the public good and the state’s future needs while fulfilling its land‑grant mission
  • Short‑term goals that support the university’s future vision

The conference is free to attend. Attendees may participate at any campus or via Zoom from other locations. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided at campus locations.

For more information, see the conference website.
