Grain scientists at Washington State University will share some of the latest discoveries in wheat breeding, disease and pest management, and production innovations at the annual Wheat Academy Dec. 10 and 11 in Pullman.
Wheat growers and industry professionals from across the Pacific Northwest are invited to the WSU campus for intensive, face-to-face sessions with university, Extension, and USDA researchers explaining the science behind WSU wheat management recommendations.
Registration begins October 8 for the Wheat Academy and is limited to the first 75 registrants.
Admission is $75 for growers and $150 for industry representatives. The registration fee covers parking on campus, two lunches, a lightly catered social hour sponsored by the Washington Association of Wheat Growers, as well as light refreshments throughout the two-day event.
The academy itself begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Vogel Plant Biosciences Building Teaching Laboratories, hosted by the WSU Extension Dryland Cropping Systems Team. The academy wraps up at 5 p.m. on Tuesday and ends at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
