Provide input about next provost at Thursday listening session

WSU Pullman faculty, staff and students are invited to provide input about the criteria used to select the university’s next provost during a listening session, noon-1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 17, in the CUB Junior Ballroom.

Dave Cillay, vice president of academic outreach and innovation and chair of the provost search committee, will guide the discussion. The input gathered during the meeting will be shared with the search committee and others involved in the search process.

The provost serves as WSU’s systemwide chief academic officer, overseeing all academic programs, including instruction and research, and providing leadership for academic administrative operations.

Current Provost Dan Bernardo, who announced Dec. 3 that he is stepping down from the position, will remain on the job until his successor is selected. The university hopes to appoint his successor by the end of spring semester.
