Mom’s Weekend at the WSU School of Music

Share a little Sondheim with Mom and the whole family!

Mom’s Weekend Opera Workshop presents “Into the Woods” Friday, April 6, 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 7, 2:00 p.m. Bryan Hall Theatre

The Tony Award-winning musical, Into the Woods, by Stephen Sondheim will magically appear on the Bryan Hall Stage during Mom’s Weekend.  Many of your favorite fairytales will collide as the characters enter the woods to fulfill their wishes.  While everyone’s wishes are ultimately granted, they are reminded of the old adage, “be careful what you wish for,” as things do not always turn out the way you hope!  This annual School of Music production is directed by Dr. Julie Anne Wieck and accompanied by the WSU Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Danh Pham. The performances will take place in Bryan Hall Theatre on Friday, April 6, at 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, April 7 at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets will be available in the lobby of Kimbrough Music Building on April 4 – 6 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. or at the door in Bryan Hall 1½ hours before each performance.  The cost is $10 for students and senior citizens and $15 for general admission.
