Road closure — College Avenue between Spring and Spokane streets

NE College Avenue, from the top of the hill at Spokane Street down to the bottom of the hill at Spring Street, is closed until further notice.

While this road is usually closed during winter months because of the steep grade and icy conditions, this year there are also problems with tunnel conditions under the road, making vehicular traffic over the roadway unsafe. Pedestrian traffic is considered fine.

This will also require a partial closure of Columbia Street and Tacoma Street.  The road will remain closed until repairs to the tunnel lid can be made, which is expected to be some time this spring when weather conditions improve.
