Professor elected to national math teaching board

TRI-CITIES – Amy Roth McDuffie, associate professor at WSU Tri-Cities, has been elected to the board of directors of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators.
The national association’s members work at the college, secondary and elementary levels. Its goals include improving mathematics education by promoting: professional growth of teacher educators, communication and collaboration among those involved in teacher education, and effective teacher education programs and practices.
 
Roth McDuffie is a faculty member of the Department of Teaching and Learning. She conducts research on professional development for teachers, focusing on approaches that incorporate research and theory on how students come to understand mathematics.
