PULLMAN – Seven recent graduates of WSU’s apparel design program will be recognized as “Emerging Designers” in a new book of that title to be published early next year.
“WSU’s submissions were genuinely exceptional,” said Sally Congdon-Martin, an editor for “Emerging Designers 2009.” “The design work that has been submitted is truly top-notch, and we look forward of Emerging Designers bringing well-deserved recognition to these outstanding student designers and to your school.”
Karen Leonas, chair of the WSU Department of Apparel Merchandising, Design and Textiles, said the success of WSU students speaks to the overall quality of the program and to the individual attention of faculty members within the department.
“We are fortunate to have dedicated and accomplished faculty who effectively mentor our gifted students throughout their educational experience resulting in this recognition of excellence. We look forward to future work from these talented emerging designers,” she said.
The annual publication highlights the work of young fashion designers from around the United States. The WSU students included in the forthcoming issue include:
