PULLMAN, Wash. Gregory Poon, an assistant professor in the College of Pharmacy at Washington State University, has received a $10,000 grant from the Fraternal Order of Eagles for a cancer research project titled “Suppression of Resistance in Targeted Cancer Therapy.”
The grant was awarded by the Washington state Fraternal Order of Eagles to WSU’s Chronic Illness Research Center formerly the Cancer Prevention Research Center as the result of a call for research proposals.
Poon is a relatively new faculty member at WSU and arrived on the Pullman campus in August 2008. He had completed a post-graduate fellowship at the Ontario Cancer Institute in the Division of Cancer Genomics and Proteomics. He has a doctorate in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Toronto.
