Junior writing portfolio report presented

Findings of the latest report on the WSU Writing Portfolio for junior students will be presented to the public at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, in Smith CUE 305A.

The report is available online here.

Julie Meloni and Donna Evans will discuss the findings on behalf of the Writing Assessment unit in the WSU Writing Program, which oversees the portfolio requirement for the university.

The 121-page report shows, among other things, that more than 90 percent of undergraduates proceeding into upper-division writing requirements demonstrate competent skills or better, as defined by faculty. Every department on campus has submitted papers in the portfolios, according to the report. And nearly 28,258 course papers were approved for student submission by individual faculty members.
