President outlines steps to re-establish higher ed

President Elson S. Floyd outlined the steps he sees as necessary to re-establish higher education in Washington state in an opinion-editorial article published in The Spokesman-Review on Sunday, Nov. 15.

“Public institutions of higher education across the country are in a fiscal crisis,” Floyd wrote, … “higher education must redouble efforts and continue to make compelling cases for adequate state support.

“… We will not recover quickly, but we must begin the process … Those of us in higher education must do more than lobby for additional funds.”
