WSU Music Faculty to Play Baroque, Modern Trumpets

PULLMAN, Wash.—David Turnbull will perform trumpet music at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, in Washington State University’s Bryan Hall Theatre. Turnbull is an associate professor of music at WSU and the principal trumpet for the Washington Idaho Symphony.

At the recital, Turnbull will perform Baroque work on a historical instrument and on a modern instrument, allowing the audience to hear the dramatic differences between each.

Turnbull will speak directly to the audience and provide them with information regarding the difference between the natural and the Baroque trumpets.  At some point in the program the audience will be encouraged to ask questions.

The concert is free and open to the public.
