Faculty and staff will have the chance to be honored as WSU Employee of the Game for each home football game this season.
Anyone can nominate a deserving WSU faculty or staff member, said Kathy Foss, director of partner services at Washington State Employees Credit Union, which will sponsor the award.
Foss said nominees will not be judged on any set criteria. Rather, winning employees will be selected based on what is written by their peers in the nomination.
A small panel will vote each week based on entries received. The winning employee will be selected five to eight days before the game.
Winning employees will receive two tickets to the game they are chosen for. Their name and picture will be displayed on the video board during the game, and a public address announcement will be read based on the nomination, Foss said.
WSECU is also a sponsor of WSU Staff and Faculty Free Fridays at volleyball games, women’s basketball and baseball, Foss said.
“All WSU employees can receive free admission to a Friday night event simply by showing their WSU ID to the box office,” she said.
