Horsemanship volunteer training Sept. 1-3

 
Palouse Area Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH), a program for people with physical, mental and emotional disabilities, will begin its 2009 fall sessions Sept. 15.
 
Classes will be held at 5:30 and 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
 
The program is looking for volunteers. There will be an orientation meeting for new volunteers 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, in the Animal Disease Biotechnology Facility (ADBF) 1002.
 
No experience is necessary, but volunteers must be 14 years or older.
 
A training session for horse handlers will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, and a training session for side walkers at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3. Both will be at the WSU Pullman stable.
 
PATH is a community service program of the College of Veterinary Medicine.
 
PATH is supported by the United Way of Pullman, the United Way of Moscow/Latah County and other foundations, businesses and individuals.
