PULLMAN – Wilson Hall will be rededicated as Wilson-Short Hall in honor of James F. Short Jr., professor emeritus of sociology. A ceremony celebrating the event and Short’s contributions to teaching, scholarship and service – will be at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, on Terrell Mall.
Short taught at WSU from 1951 until his retirement in 1997. He continues to research and publish on violence and violence avoidance and on social aspects of risk. He is a former Guggenheim fellow and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
