WSU budget details now available in e-mail or online

PULLMAN – A detailed description of WSU’s final 2009-2011 budget has been e-mailed to all employees and students and is available on the University Budget Committee website.

This document gives employees and students universitywide an opportunity to review the plan and prepare for a related public forum hosted by WSU President Elson S. Floyd and Provost and Executive Vice President Warwick M. Bayly at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 17.

The budget presentation will be held in Compton Union Building auditorium on the Pullman campus. It will be broadcast to sites on the university’s three other campuses – WSU Spokane, Spokane Academic Center, Room 20; WSU Tri-Cities, West Building, Room 256; and WSU Vancouver, Classroom Building, Room 130. And, it will be video-streamed at experience.wsu.edu.

The university’s preliminary budget plan, which addresses a $54 million reduction in state allocation for the upcoming biennium, was announced on May 1. The administration has been fielding questions and suggestions for the past several weeks, and considering alternative approaches that might improve the situation.

The new budget will go into effect on July 1.

Employees are encouraged to look for the detailed budget description, available in their e-mail or at the University Budget Committee website.
