Learn personal safety and self-defense tactics

 
PULLMAN – Train with professionals to decrease the likelihood of becoming a victim of assault.  Join the Wellbeing staff for a self-defense and personal safety courses will run 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, May 30, and again on Friday, June 12.
 
The self-defense and personal safety women’s part 1 class will teach the basics of self-defense from nationally certified RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) safety instructors. 
 
Participants will learn how to avoid and handle potentially harmful situations as well as reduce risk for themselves and the community. In addition, participants will learn basic self defense techniques to help them safely manage an assault incident.
 
The cost of the course is $27 for SRC members, $37 for nonmembers. Registration for the May 30 course closes May 26. Registration for the June 12 course closes on June 8.  Participants may be eligible to receive grant funding to cover registration costs. Applications are available online.
