Early retirement incentive still available

The deadline for submitting an application for WSU’s voluntary early retirement incentive (VERI) is May 31.

Employees 55 and older are eligible if they’ve been in the Washington State University Retirement Plan (WSURP), also known as TIAA-CREF, at least 10 years.

Retirement must be effective no later than July 1, with the last day of work June 30.
For employees on appointments shorter than 12 months, the retirement date would be the day following the end of their appointment, provided they meet the May 31 application deadline.

For those who retire under VERI, WSU will make a one-time payment of $18,000 into a tax-exempt medical expense plan.

To request an application, call Human Resource Services at 335-4521 or e-mail hrs@wsu.edu.
